We've been happily married since 1990 and Greg has been performing weddings since 1994. After 25+ years of officiating, we are pretty good at this wedding thing. :) Greg's wife, Annette, comes along to most weddings he performs as an additional helper, encourager and voice of wisdom. So, with us, you often get two for the price of one. We've been doing this a long time! We have so much fun doing this and we make sure you have a happy and fun day too!
Greg is an ordained Christian Pastor, committed to performing Christian ceremonies that honor Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the holy union God intended marriage to be. He doesn't perform any secular unions or marriages that leave God out of the equation.
We are "people persons." We are very easy going and laid back "Hawaiian Style" people. We treat everyone we meet like 'ohana. We are committed to making your special day everything you want it to be. We are here for you! We'd love to help you with planning the ceremony, pre-marital/post-marital mentoring/coaching and more.
This is the top priority for us. This is YOUR special day. Our promise to you is that we will give everything we've got to make it as close to perfect as possible.
This is our sixth year here and we've explored the Big Island in detail. We have connections to photographers, wedding planners, florists, DJ's, caterers and more. We can connect you with the perfect location for your dream day, including obtaining permits and event insurance when necessary. We want to make sure your wedding or vow renewal is as low stress as possible for you.
We can travel anywhere in the state of Hawaii to conduct your wedding or vow renewal. Officiating the service is typically just $129-$279 depending on the distance from our office. When Greg travels to 'Oahu, Maui and Kauai because of the additional travel time and costs, (including air fare and taxi fares, etc.) our ceremony fees start at $899 and go up from there, dependent on the venue distance from the airport, whether an overnight stay is required, whether both Greg and Annette are needed, etc.
The first part of every Big Island Wedding or Big Island Vow Renewal ceremony sets the stage and tone for the day. Greg usually begins by asking the Bride and the Groom to each declare their intentions to each other. These are the "I Do's" of a wedding. The Wedding Vows come later.

Some couples prefer to write their own vows. Some couples prefer to use traditional vows. Some like a mixture of the two. All of the above are fine. Remember, it is YOUR day! Greg is happy to help you with writing your own vows or he can give you some options to mix and match.

Some couples like to incorporate a unity symbol. These point to the two individuals now becoming one in marriage. Traditionally, two candles lighting one central candle is a common version but with the trade winds here, that is a lot tougher than it sounds. So, often, other unity symbols work better.

Since you are choosing to marry or renew your vows in Hawai'i, you may choose to incorporate some Hawaiian elements into your ceremony. Announcing the start of the wedding with the blowing of the pu (conch shell), exchanging leis, giving leis to parents, participating in a Honi Greeting with your new spouse and repeating some basic Hawaiian vows are some options we can include if you are interested.
